Summer Pervez

Born in Saudi Arabia to Pakistani parents, Summer grew up in multiple countries and was educated in American schools. She holds a PhD in English from the University of Ottawa and has been teaching in various universities in Canada and Pakistan since 2002, including the University of the Fraser Valley, Kwantlen Polytechnic University, Forman Christian College, and the Lahore School of Economics. She specializes in World Literature and Film (with a focus on South Asia) as well as screenwriting for film and television, and has published a range of articles on literature and film in various academic journals. Along with research and teaching, she is also a working filmmaker (writer/director/producer) and has made several short films which have shown in the international film festival circuit.
